...vi puster med tidevannet og bølgeskvulpet rasler i magen, 2022
Exhibition of art collective ”Ekko Ekko” under the Arctic Arts Festival, 25th of June- 2nd of July 2022.
A nomadic, social, interdisciplinary art project between me, environmental philosopher Tuva Saltermark and biology student Kathleen Helleland. The project wanted to problematize how the state of Norway views the ocean as an eternal resource, as well as talk to people along the coastline of Northern Norway/Sápmi about what the ocean means to them. We also speculated about what might exist in the deep ocean rhealm after oil spills and deep sea mining, aesthetically and philosophically being inspired by the diatom, the microscopical algae that produces more oxygen than the rainforest of Amazonas. The research culminated in an exhibition at the festival consisting of a collage of material gathered from our travels in Northern Norway/Sápmi.
In the exhibition:
Peer of pine wood, 20x100x300cm / Video projection (loop) of film-collage of documentation from the travel (length: 11,5 min)
